After relentless festival and club touring throughout the U.S. and Europe and releasing 4 studio CD from 2012-2017, Black Market III signed with Rip Cat Records in 2018. Their CD "Dashboard Jesus" debuted at #24 on the Roots Music Report and received a nomination by the San Diego Music Awards for “BEST BLUES ALBUM”, and the hit single "Daddy Rollin' Stone" reached #4 on the RMR’s Top 50 in December of 2018. The band spent most of the next two years touring, returning home in 2020 to the world shutting down due to the pandemic. During this time they wrote, recorded, and released their 6th album, “Soul Survivor”. BMIII is excited to be back touring throughout Europe and England this year for the 12th time.
Black Market III crosses over, using the Blues as the root of their sound. Having roots in Southern California, their music infuses traditional Blues with Soul, Roots Rock, Latin, and straight ahead Rock. In addition to their original music, BMIII features more obscure covers from Tom Waits, Dead Weather, Jimmie Vaughan, Freddie King, Otis Blackwell, Betty Harris, Tom Petty, Tito & Tarantula, Social Distortion, Led Zeppelin, and many more. No pigeon holing this band--Blues and American Roots firmly planted, yet a sound uniquely their own.
BMIII has been electrifying audiences throughout 12 countries with their diversity and originality since 2012. They have been recognized in their hometown of San Diego, nationally, and internationally with many award nominations in the Blues and Rock categories, being named "Rock Band of the Year" by IMP Radio in New Zealand, winning a 2023 SDMA for “Best Video” for their song "Rosalee", and being named among the top 10 "Bands To Watch".
